Fort d'une série de victoires, les Islanders de New York se sont entrainers ce matin en vue de l'affrontement face aux Leafs de Toronto. L'accent a été mis une fois de plus sur l'avantage numérique. La formation new yorkaise trône d'ailleur au premier rang de la ligue à ce chapitre. Questionné sur le sujet, le nouveau venu Jacob Trouba s'est dit fiers de porter l'uniforme des pêcheurs dans une période avec autant de succès:

Le défenseur de 6'03'' a effectivement marqué son premier but en avantage numérique sur une passe de Crosby lors de son arrivé dans la grosse pomme lors d'un face de ses anciens rivaux de division, les Kings de Los Angeles, la semaine dernière, facilitant son passage après plusieurs années sous le chaud soleil de la Californie aux hivers froids de l'Empire State.

En conférence de presse aujourd'hui,

Le nouveau venu Sidney Crosby a été présenté au média emn arborant le ''C'' sur son chandail, en compagnie de ses nouveaux assistants Ryan O'Reilly et John Carlson (Capitaine Intérimaire en 2023-2024), tous deux assistants pour la formation New Yorkaise depuis la saison 2017-2018 et 2014-2015 respectivement. ''Sid The Veterans'' s'est adressé à la foule présente:

''C'est une honneur de représente le région de Long Island, un endroit que j'aime toujours été visite avec ma parents et famille depuis je suisse une petite enfant. Jamais porte la pyjama Canadiens, mais aussi la Islanders de New York. C'est une honneur d'être ici avec mon famille pour apporter une 3e Coupe Stanley avec les boys''

Rappellons que Crosby a subit de nombreuses commotions dans sa carrière, ce qui peut expliquer ses erreurs de langue. Mais l'important pour le meilleur joueur la ligue, c'est ce qu'il dit sur la glace et c'est la raison principale de son acquition cet été.

Ilya Samsonov sur le marché

Avec très peu d'espoir de faire les séries cette année, les Sabres mettent désormais leur gardien #1 Ilya Samsonov sur le marché! Le gardien russe a présentement un pourcentage d'arrêts de .925 en plus d'avoir une moyenne de but alloué de moins de 2.75! Des statistiques franchement impressionnantes considérant l'équipe digne d'une équipe Pee-wee AA de St-lin dans la ligue du vieux poêle. Il est important de souligner son faible impact sur la masse salariale avec un micro 2.9M$! Un vrai bijou

Les rumeurs mentionnent que le directeur général des Sabres, Mr Forget, serait à la recherche de jeunes joueurs prometteurs et/ou de choix pour poursuivre la reconstruction majeure dans la ville des buffles.

Couture (Islanders) Le 16th January / 11:26am : Malgré des intentions de début de saison de bien repêcher encore cette année, les Islanders ont surpris avec un dossier de .500 après 20 matchs, ce qui a encouragé la direction à amener du renfort dans les filets, en défensive et à l'attaque. S'en est suivi une série de 8W... puis 11L straight (!!).

La direction des Islanders double donc la mise et rapatrie leur choix COL 1 2015, 18e au total, Ilya Samsonov (!), en plus du prolifique UFA Blake Coleman à qui l'organisation des Sabres avait donné la permission de discuter pour faciliter l'échange.

Les Islanders envoient en le profilique William Dufour en direction de Buffalo. Le scoreur naturel natif de Québec travaille actuellement sur ''son jeu sans la rondelle'', mais sera assurément un atout important à la reconquête des Sabres dans les années à venir.
